Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and how to get rid of it.

Denver Dog Parks (denverdogparks.com) is operated by Jorge Villagran in Denver, Colorado, who is the person responsible for the data described here. Questions or requests go to privacy@denverdogparks.com.

You can use most of Denver Dog Parks without an account

Browsing parks, the map, neighbourhood pages and the business directory requires no account and no sign-in. Saving parks and comparing them works without an account too — those lists are kept in your own browser’s local storage under sniff:saved and sniff:compare, and are never sent anywhere until you choose to sign in.

What is collected

If you create an account

Accounts are handled by Supabase. Signing up with an email address stores that address and an encrypted password. Signing in with Google or Apple instead shares your email address and basic profile details from that provider. A display name is stored if you set one. Once you sign in, your saved parks move from your browser to your account so they follow you between devices.

If you post a review or submit a photo

Reviews store your rating, the text you wrote, an optional dog name, and the display name shown on your account at the time of posting. Photos are stored as uploaded. Both are held for moderation before appearing publicly, and both are public once approved.

If you contact a business through Denver Dog Parks

The enquiry form on a business page collects the name, phone number, email address and message you enter, plus which business and which park the enquiry came from. This information is passed to that business so it can reply to you — that is the purpose of the form. Denver Dog Parks also records that the enquiry happened, because businesses are billed for the enquiries they receive. Tapping a phone number or a website link records that an interaction occurred; it does not record who you are.

If you claim a business listing

Claiming a listing collects your name, your email address, your role at the business, and any verification details you provide, so the claim can be checked before it is granted.

Cookies and similar storage

Services that process data on Denver Dog Parks’s behalf

Denver Dog Parks does not sell your personal information, and does not share it with anyone beyond the services above and the business you deliberately contacted.

How long things are kept

Account data is kept until you ask for the account to be deleted. Published reviews and photos remain until you or a moderator remove them. Business enquiries are retained as billing records. Local storage lives in your browser until you clear it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and you can withdraw consent for anything you previously submitted. Email privacy@denverdogparks.com and say what you want done. If you are in a place with specific data protection rights — such as the EEA, the UK, or California — those rights apply and requests are handled the same way.

Children

Denver Dog Parks is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted something, write to privacy@denverdogparks.com and it will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes in substance, the date at the bottom of the page changes with it. See also the Terms of Use.
